About the role

The Community and Event Fundraising Manager is accountable for developing and implementing an ambitious community and event fundraising programme by building relationships and converting supporter enthusiasm into action. Income from Community and Events has grown by over 30% in the past 12 months, and is on target to increase by a further 30% this year so this a great time to join and lead the team.

Role overview
Contract type: Permanent
Hours: Full-time (35 hours per week); working part-time (minimum 21 hours) will be considered. Occasional work in the evenings and at weekends will be required but with plenty of notice. Rainbow Migration encourages staff to maintain a good work life balance and has a TOIL system in place.
Salary: Starting at £46,000 with a potential step increase each year up to £51,253 (pro rata if working part time), plus statutory employer’s pension contribution. We also try to give a separate inflationary increase every April.
Location: Remote or from Rainbow Migration’s step-free offices which are based in London between Vauxhall and the Oval. Hybrid working will also be considered and can be agreed with the line manager as per our hybrid working policy. The successful candidate could work from anywhere in the UK but would be expected to occasionally travel to London and other parts of the country for meetings and events. ROLE PURPOSE:
The Policy and Advocacy team within Womankind influences a transformative, feminist agenda for change in solidarity with movement partners and allies. This is a full-time, fast-paced subject matter expert role that leads the organisation’s partner centred and evidence-based advocacy in UK and Global Advocacy forums, from a decolonial feminist lens, in line with Womankind’s 2030 strategy. Additionally, the role supports partner advocacy related learning & exchange, and capacity strengthening for partners based in all of Womankind’s focus countries and co-leads work on advocacy related knowledge products.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
1. Strategic Leadership & Positioning
Leads Womankind’s evidence based advocacy and strategic engagement in global, regional & UK Policy forums from a decolonial feminist lens. This includes:
Formulation of Womankind’s UK & Global advocacy plans, and execution of key deliverables based on thorough advocacy mapping processes.
Planning and engaging in side and parallel events.
Identifying key advocacy messages and supporting partner engagement/participation.
2. Feminist Research & Knowledge Production
Drives the conceptualisation, decolonial feminist framing, review, and strategic dissemination of knowledge products in alignment with advocacy priorities per the organisation’s Strategy 2030 and relevant sub-strategies including the feminist partnerships and influencing sub-strategies.
3. Partner Support, Learning and Exchange
Proactively supports partner influencing and advocacy skills strengthening where necessary and appropriate, in line with available organisational resources.
Identifies, plans and executes strategic in-country, transnational and cross-continental learning and exchange opportunities.
4. Programme Management
Contributes to the P&A team’s annual planning and budgeting processes.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:
Qualification and training:
A post-graduate qualification in a relevant social sciences field e.g. international development or legal studies, human rights, gender studies, or equivalent experience.
Essential Experience:
At least 5 years’ experience in the women’s rights and feminist sectors with demonstrable capabilities in strategic, partner-centred, evidence-based, decolonial feminist advocacy leadership in UK and Global Advocacy spaces.
In-depth knowledge on core women’s rights normative standards and intersectional feminist principles that guide policy and influencing work within the UK and globally. This includes how diverse women’s rights thematic areas intersect and how this is integrated into strategic influencing and advocacy.
Astute networking skills and ability to successfully build and leverage relationships with diverse partners, allies, government officials and intergovernmental bodies for strategic advocacy and influencing.
Proven track record in leading/driving knowledge production from a decolonial feminist lens including research reports, and policy briefs.

Travel Requirements:
International travel and regular in-person catch-ups with UK based policy makers and civil society colleagues are essential requirements for this role. The post holder is expected to engage in reasonable international travel to fulfil their duties. This is expected to be no more than four-eight weeks per year.
Line Management:
The role holder is expected to line manage the UK/Global Policy and Advocacy Officer. They will occasionally supervise consultants, interns and volunteers as needed, in line with the work they are leading.

About the Role
Reprieve focuses on the following key areas: the death penalty; torture; rendition; arbitrary detention; and citizenship deprivation. The Strategic Litigation team uses the law as a tool to advance Reprieve’s organisational objectives, with the ultimate aim of effecting broader systemic legal and political change in the areas in which we work. Our litigation serves not only to help individuals obtain protection and redress through legal mechanisms, but also to highlight and challenge the abusive practices carried out and supported by governments, and to expose the absence or failings of safeguards to protect individuals from such abuses of state power.
The Strategic Litigation Team Manager will work under the guidance of the Head of Strategic Litigation and collaborate closely with the casework, media, policy and mass engagement teams to progress our portfolio of cases and amplify the impact of our litigation.
The types of claims in our portfolio vary, but frequently include public and civil law claims, interventions before UK and regional/international courts, and actions before complaints bodies and tribunals. The Strategic Litigation Team Manager will also contribute to the team’s work of proactively identifying new litigation opportunities to further the organisation’s strategic objectives. In addition, the role will encompass work on Reprieve’s strategic United Nations engagement and international litigation. This will involve monitoring for relevant opportunities to shape international law and working on submissions before international human rights mechanisms.
Under the guidance of the Head of Strategic Litigation, the Strategic Litigation Team Manager will have responsibility for project managing the progress of our portfolio of cases, including ensuring they are proceeding according to agreed timelines and supporting the Strategic Litigation team in their work on these cases. They will work closely with instructed legal teams and individual claimants and their families to advance cases and ensure coordination of legal actions. Liberty is looking for a creative and strategic lawyer to join its legal team as a legal team manager. Strategic litigation is core to Liberty’s work. Our lawyers work closely with the rest of the organisation using casework and legal advice to help Liberty reach its strategic goals. You will be responsible for running a small caseload of strategic litigation, conducting interventions and providing specialist human rights advice. A large part of the role is identifying and then scoping potential cases, working closely with other organisations to develop the litigation in a collaborative and creative way.
In addition to your legal work, you will line manage another lawyer in the team, one of our paralegals and our legal information officer, who leads Liberty’s legal education work. About the role
The Head of Policy and Humanitarian Affairs manages a small dynamic team based in London, who take the lead, as requested, on the delivery of relevant strategies in the UK and Ireland, the main objectives of which are twofold: (i) to contribute towards enabling ICRC action to protect and assist people affected by armed conflict (AC) and other situations of violence; (ii) to influence the debate and secure improved decision-making on issues relevant to conflict, humanitarian action and international humanitarian law.
